Who we are

Our registration number with the Information Commissioner’s Office is to be confirmed.
What we collect, why, and the lawful basis
- Enquiries, call-back requests and contact details you give us in the configurator’s enquiry form, the call-back panel, the contact form, the distributor form, the delivery form and the offer sign-up: your name, business, email, phone number, postcode, your message, the best time to call and the rack you built. The forms are received and stored for us by Netlify, which hosts the site, and emailed to Container Rack; we use them to call you back, to confirm and fulfil your order, and to keep a record of what we agreed. Lawful basis: taking the steps you ask us to take before a contract, and performing the contract once we have agreed it; our legitimate interest in answering general enquiries.
- Your saved order is kept in your own browser’s storage so it survives a refresh. It is not sent to us until you send it as an enquiry or ask for a call back.
- A partner code (
?ref=) when you arrive through a distributor’s or haulier’s link. It is held in your browser for the visit so the partner can be credited for an order or quote you place during it. It is kept in a cookie for 90 days only if you accept analytics and partner tracking on the cookie banner. Lawful basis: your consent for the cookie; our legitimate interest in paying partners correctly for an order placed in the same visit. - Analytics, only if you accept them on the cookie banner: Google Analytics 4 with Consent Mode, to see which pages are used and where the configurator is abandoned. IP addresses are not stored in full. Lawful basis: your consent, which you can withdraw at any time with the Cookie settings link in the footer.
- Your email for the first-order code, if you give it on the offer page: we use it only about your rack. Lawful basis: taking the steps you ask us to take before a contract.
How long we keep it
Order and quote records: six years after the last transaction, for tax and warranty. Enquiries that do not become orders: twelve months. Analytics: Google’s default retention, fourteen months.
Who processes it
- Netlify hosts the site, handles the requests your browser makes to it, and receives and stores the forms you send (Netlify Forms), which it emails to us. Netlify filters form spam with Akismet.
- Google provides the analytics, only after you accept them.
- Carriers, for delivery; and, for an order placed through a partner, that partner (your name and order value only).
We take no payment online, so no card details are collected on this site.
Some of these providers process data in the United States. Those transfers are covered by the United Kingdom’s approved safeguards (the UK extension to the EU-US Data Privacy Framework, or the International Data Transfer Agreement). We do not sell personal data.
Your rights
You can ask what we hold about you, have it corrected or deleted, have a copy of it in a portable form, and object to or restrict its use. Where we rely on your consent, you can withdraw it at any time. We make no automated decisions about you. Email info@containerrack.co.uk.
